Do I need a prescription?
The prescribed medications in this directory require veterinary authorization before dispensing. A pharmacy may let you start an order while it obtains the prescription, but that is different from shipping without authorization. Ask which documents or clinic contact details it needs. FDA advises caution with sellers that offer prescription pet medicines without a veterinarian’s prescription.
Keep prescription and medical information within your veterinarian’s and pharmacy’s secure processes. Do not put it in directory search fields or our contact form.
Can I search a brand name?
Yes, where a documented alias is available. Start typing the name on the prescription and choose a suggestion, or enter the name and use Search. A brand alias helps locate the medication record; it does not mean every listed pharmacy sells the branded product. Check the exact product identity with the pharmacy.
Why can the same medication have different forms?
Listings describe different pharmacy offerings, not a menu of equivalent treatments. Strength, concentration, route, formulation base, release characteristics and package size can differ. Compounded products, manufactured compounded products, approved generics and branded products are kept distinct. Do not change prescription specifications to match an online price.
Does a directory listing mean I can order it?
A listing means we recorded supporting material for that pharmacy and medication. It is not a stock reservation, a pharmacy endorsement or confirmation for your pet. Follow the official product or pharmacy link and ask whether it can fill your exact prescription now.
Why might a pharmacy not appear?
The medication offering, selected form and shipping category must all match. The default state filter uses documented state shipping. A broad nationwide claim is kept separate; unknown coverage establishes neither service nor non-service. Product-specific restrictions can further narrow results. Clear a filter to inspect other evidence without assuming fulfillment.
What do the listed prices mean?
A configured price describes the displayed strength, form and quantity, with flavor when established. A pharmacy-advertised starting notice reports its general starting offer; it may not apply to your selected configuration. These are collected observations, not live quotes or a claim to the lowest price in the market.
Standard one-time prices stay separate from subscription, coupon and introductory offers. Shipping, fees and tax may be additional. An unknown charge is not zero, and a medication-only amount is not a delivered total. Expired amounts are withheld; the pharmacy link remains available.
Why is pricing sometimes unavailable?
Some pharmacies quote after checking the prescription; others do not provide enough public specifications for a usable observation. A source may also be inaccessible, restricted or out of date. “Pricing not available” describes what we can support, not a claim that the pharmacy has no price.
Will it ship to my state, and when?
Pharmacy-level shipping evidence and product eligibility are separate. Even a documented state listing does not confirm shipping for every preparation, patient or address. Ask about prescription authorization, preparation time, carrier transit, temperature requirements and extra charges. An estimated dispatch date is not an arrival guarantee.
For a useful quote request, use Tips for Pet Owners. Browse the medication index, state shipping pages or directory instructions. Questions about treatment belong with your veterinarian; questions about an order belong with the pharmacy.
